After having been trained by Me Francis MOLLET-VIEVILLE, President of the Paris Bar (Bâtonnier), and Ms Geneviève AUGENDRE, Édouard de LAMAZE founded the law firm CARBONNIER LAMAZE RASLE & PARTNERS, of which he is one of the managing partners. Since then, he managed the sustained growth of the law firm while at the same time being extensively involved in the French public activities at a high level.

He first defended the interests of the profession of lawyers acting, successively, as delegate to the C.N.B.F., director of the CREPA, President of the Union of Young Lawyers of Paris, President of the National Federation of the Unions of Young Lawyers and Member of the “Conseil de l’Ordre”. These responsibilities led him, in particular, to negotiate the first collective agreements of the salaried lawyers in France.

Afterwards, he represented the interests of the legal profession in the capacity of member of the Executive Committee of the National Union of Independent Professionals, then as Inter-Ministerial Delegate to the Independent Professionals (professions libérales), as General Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Independent Professionals and as President of the Permanent Commission for the dialogue of Independent Professionals. These responsibilities led him, in particular, to be the initiator of the legal regime about the French holding companies of Independent Professionals, of which the importance is being reappraised, and to act as government commissioner for the presentation to the Council of State of the bill regarding the voluntary selling right reform.

Since then, he has been actively engaged in the defence of the general interest, in his capacity as member of the Euro National Committee, as President of the National Research Institute on Independent Professionals, as member of the Commission of the Accounts of Services Professions and, especially, as Section Member of the Economical and Social Council. In particular, he has been the initiator and one of the main contributors of the advice that the Economic and Social Council has devoted to the question of the consequences of the application of the European Services Directive for the French economy.

Within CARBONNIER LAMAZE RASLE & PARTNERS, he has been the co-founder and co-developer with Michel RASLE of the banking department, historically one of the very first activities of the law firm. Thanks to the trust and confidence of some of the largest banking and financial institutions in France, he has broadened the activities of this department to comprehensive banking and financial matters.
